After 2 consecutive Victorian Championships and a 3rd outright in an ARC Alpine Rally the car was extensively damaged on May 1st 1993 on stage 3 of the VRC Rally in the Valley.
It was a night stage and we were negotiating a very fast sweeping right hander in the forest in the hills to the north of Taralgon. It was not unlike many other corners however on the exit of the corner the LH rear wheel hit a wash away on the left hand edge of the road and that was it.
Amazing thing about rolling a rally car at night is the only thing you can see is where the headlights and driving lights are pointing. As we rolled along the edge of the road all I could see was the tops of trees on the RH side of the road with no idea of what we were heading for. I think we rolled twice and the car ended up on all four wheels with the rear down the bank and the front wheels still on the LH edge of the road. I could not open my door as there was a huge gum tree about 2 inches from it - I was glad I could not see that coming.
As you can see by the photos the car was extensively damaged and Peter F decided he did not want to fix it and the car was sold and we both decided to retire from Championship.
